Evita Patti Lupone!

Evita Patti Lupone Questions

Evita Patti Lupone
Do you think Patti LuPone is pretty?

she’s a famous actress on Broadway (i.e. Evita) and played the mother on the tv show Life Goes On

If you have to ask….. then I guess you don’t think she is pretty for sure either. I don’t think she’s pretty, but she is attractive in a way because of how she carries herself and smiles. Technically she’s not pretty though.

Gypsy on Broadway is All Set to Conquer Hearts!

There are two girls, June and Louise. Their mother has high dreams for them. However, when things don’t go as planned, Gypsy on Broadway is created! Yes, this is a musical story of a mother in show business, who badly wishes her daughters to go to the top of stardom. But, when their play is booked at Burlesque House, Louise has no choice but to become a striptease artist. June backs out from the act and their mother is left with a nightmarish experience.

This musical is almost based on the memoirs of the famous striptease artist of 1957, Gypsy Rosa Lee. Written and directed by Arthur Laurenta, and produced by Roger Berlind in collaboration with The Routh Frankel Baruch Viertel Group, Gypsy on Broadway is all set to leave everyone spellbound with charismatic performances by all the characters.

The lead characters of Mama Rose and Louise are played by Patti Lupone and Laura Benanti respectively. The character of Herbie, the stage manager in the musical, is played by Boyd Gaines. Each artist has his or her own share of feathers in their caps.

Patti Lupone has won the Tony Award twice. Her role in “Evita” as Eva Peron and in “Anything Goes” as Reno Sweeney is still applauded. She has successfully brought the character of Mama Rose to life onstage! Laura Benanti has two Tony Awards to her credit while Boyd Gaines has won it thrice. Gaines had won laurels for his role of Colonel Pickering in the smashing Broadway hit “Pygmalion,” which was produced in 2007.

Lupone is an experienced Broadway artist with her debut in the year 1973. On the other hand, Benanti is a recently born Broadway star with her debut in 1998, when she was taken as a substitute for Maria in the play “The Sound of Music.” She grabbed the attention of critics as well as audience which was all praises for her. Her recent performance was in “The Wedding Singer” produced in 2006.

The creative team of Gypsy on Broadway includes James Youmans, who has made each scene look real through terrific designing; Martin Pakledinaz, who has made each character come to life through fabulous costumes; Dan Moses Schreier, who has made the theatre sound like everything’s happening for real through the rocking sound effects; Howell Binkley, who has been successful in captivating the audience through stunning light effects; Stephen Sondheim, who has made the audience go hysterical through his lyrics; and Jule Styne, who has the audience swaying due to marvelous music.

Phew! Everyone’s worked really hard to bring history to life on the stage! And how they have been stupendously successful in their endeavors! Gypsy on Broadway had already attracted a massive crowd on March 2, 2008, when it was first shown at the St. James Theatre. The official opening date of this show is on March 27. Theatre fans can hardly wait to watch their favorite stars perform and also catch a glimpse of backstage drama!
