My Practice SAT scores?

I’m taking the SATs for the first time this Saturday. I took a practice SAT score a couple weeks ago. Here were my results:

Often, your real SAT scores will be just a bit higher than those from your practice SAT. Not always, but it does happen, because taking the practice SAT has made you familiar with the test, and that alone can improve your scores.

One thing I’d suggest is that you go to the library or a bookstore today and get an SAT test prep book. You don’t have time to read it all, and that’s okay. I want you to read the first chapters, which should give guidance on what the test is all about, and what the test writers expect. That’s key information, which can help you when you take the SAT for real. If you also have time to work through some of the chapters on the specific sections of the test, that’s great. But no matter what, stop prepping entirely 24 hours before you take the SAT. Your brain will need a rest from test prep in order to do well!

In your field, some colleges will require you to audition. If your audition is strong enough, it can play a *significant* role re: admissions. So pick your audition pieces early, and work with your music and acting teachers, or the guy who runs the musicals at your school, or *someone* to get those pieces ready. Go to the websites for the colleges you want now. They normally will talk through what they’re looking for in an audition.

Your GPA and SATs are very low for Carnegie Mellon. But if you have to audition for them, and you do very well in the audition, you might have a shot. It’s a reach, though.

You have a real shot at Baldwin Wallace and at Point Park! If you don’t mind Philly, you could also look at U of the Arts.

I have seen the movie, it’s fantastic. I am fifteen years old. (fifteen and nine months) I’m turning sixteen this July. The show is going to be on at the Civic Theatre (in Auckland) this month and I am planning to go with my mother.

i went to the one here in california, and they didn’t check my id, and i was sixteen at the time, so i think you’re okay. and if that’s the wording, it just sounds like they strongly advise you against going if you’re under fifteen, but it doesn’t sound like it’s not legal or something.. and i definitely saw some like 5 year olds there when i went (who brings their 5 year old to rent?!) anyway, have the most fun you’ve ever had ever!!! i loved it, and i’m very jealous.. and, i just need to say that they should have a sing along version of the musical… anyway, i’m done. okcoolbye

Sheryl Crow Unveils Plans for North American and Australian Tour

Sheryl Crow’s career began more than two decades ago, when the former elementary school teacher was discovered by local producers in a small Missouri town. After a brief stint as a widely successful TV jingle writer, Crow’s big break finally arrived in 1987, when she was brought on as a vocalist on Michael Jackson’s BAD World Tour.

In 1993, Crow released her first album, Tuesday Night Music Club. The album was an instant hit with fans around the world. It went on to produce several successful singles, move more than 5.3 million units and achieve a 7x Multi-Platinum RIAA certification.

Since Tuesday Night Music Club, Crow has released eight additional albums, including: Sheryl Crow, The Globe Sessions, Sheryl Crow and Friends: Live from Central Park, C’mon C’mon, The Very Best of Sheryl Crow, Wildflower, Hits & Rarities and her latest 2008 release, Detours. These albums have featured some of Crow’s most popular singles, including All I Wanna Do, Strong Enough, If It Makes you Happy, Every Day is a Winding Road, My Favorite Mistake, Sweet Child o’ Mine, Soak Up the Sun and C’Mon C’Mon.

Crow’s latest release, Detours, was reviewed by critics as the resurrection of a classic Sheryl Crow at her finest. The album’s sound mirrors Crow’s earlier work, namely 1998’s The Globe Sessions. In addition, Detours sees Crow collaborating once again with Bill Bottrel, the producer of her widely successful debut release, Tuesday Night Music Club.

To promote and celebrate Detours, Cheryl Crow has begun touring, in concert tour which sees the musician performing in four countries on two continents, over the span of almost half a year. The tour kicked off in August of 2008 in the United States and is set to hit Canada in September and October and Australia and New Zealand in November and December.
